Study On Counter Season Cultivation Technology Of Gladiolus Hybridus Cut Flower In Tianshui

Gladiolus Hybridus is a world famous and is considered as" King of cut flower" flowering bulb which plays a significant role in world cut flower market. The production of Gladiolus Hybridus plays an increasingly important role in the commodity production market of flower and greenery. The productions and sales of Gladiolus Hybridus comes the third after those of modern rose, chrysanthemum flower and carnation , but its production level and technology are behind world class country, such as Holland the USA etc. Tianshui, as a remote and backward area in the northwest, has only a few correlative studies, so some flower companies urgently require technical advice on cultivation technology. This study is about tests on Gladiolus Hybridus' breed screening, regulation and control of florescence and cropping density in the scientific research third base of Gansu Forestry Technology College and agriculture high-tech industries demonstration zone, Ganquan, Tanshui. The results are as follows:1,Via observing nine breeds of Gladiolus Hybridus, I think five of them (Spic &Span , Trader Hore , White Friendship ,Nova Lux , Friendship) demonstrate thefeatures of growing well, having fine qualities , getting higher cut flower rate andadjusting well.2,Via regulations and controls of florescence in 2005, we can sum up the followingform :3,Via test about cropping density, the results demonstrate that the best cut flower comes from cropping density of 30-40 flowers every square meter, the one of 50-70 flowers every square meter comes the second. And the length of flowering spike, the number of baby flower , the size of stalk of the both kinds failed to distinct standard .The third one of which cropping density of 80-100 flowers every square meter shows the plants are weaker and easier to produce blind flowers , qualities of cut flower decrease terribly . After giving comprehensive consideration to the quality and production of cut flowers, we work out the best winter cropping density comes to the second one.4,During the year 2005and 2006 ,we spread new breeds and new products 1.6h m~2.Flower offerings during National Day increase benefits 130000y/ hm~2, It can increase social benefits about 280000y/h m~2 during other festivals, it also social .5,We work out the Technical regulation about Cultivation Technology of Gladiolus Hybridus Cut Flower , on the base of the results of tests and demonstrations, pooling public wisdom as well.
