An experiment was conducted to clarify the effect of compound green feed additive on performance and meat quality in Yanbian yellow cattle (bulls). 10 Yanbian yellow cattle (bulls) at 24 months old with similar body weight (230.8kg BW) were randomly divided into two treatments. The concentrate of trial group was supplemented with compound green feed additive while control group not. We investigated the effect of compound green feed additive on meat production performance, feed efficiency, blood chemical index and carcass characteristics in Yanbian yellow cattle (bulls), and the results showed that:1. The average of total body weight gain and daily weight gain of bulls in trial group were 140.6kg and 1.20kg respectively after feeding for 117 days and were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0 . 05) ; The increase amounts of body height, chest deep, canno round, rump length, hip bone wide and sciatic wide in trial group were the same as those in control group; The increase amounts of body length, chest round and chest wide in trial group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0 . 05) ; The concentrate feed efficiency of trial group was 0.378 and higher than that of control group (P< 0.05).2. The Total albumen and Globulin content of serum for trial group were significantly higher than those of control group (P<0 . 05) ; There was no significant difference in the Albumin, glucose, GPT and GOT content of serum between trial group and control group; The blood urea nitrogen content for trial group was significantly lower than that of control group (P<0 . 01 ) ; The serum calcium content for trial group was significantly (P<0 .01) higher than that of control group, and the serum inorganic phosphorus content of trial group was also significantly high (P<0.05) .3. The carcass yield and loin-eye area for trial group were 56.58% and 74.95cm2respectively, and there was significant difference (P<0.05) between trial group and control group; There were no significant difference (P>0.05) for chemical component of loin muscle between trial group and control group; The arsenic content of loin muscle for trial group was significantly (P<0 .01) lower than that of control group. In contrast, the lead content of loin muscle for control group was significantly (P<0.01) lower than that of trial group; The saturated fatty acid content of loin muscle for trial group were significantly decreased (P<0.05), and the unsaturated fatty acid content for trial group was the same as that of control group; The essential amino acid content for trial group has increased 76.43%, and there was significant difference (P<0.05) between trial group and control group, and there was no significant difference (P>0.05) for non-essential amino acid content between trial group and control group, however, the phenylalanine, serine and glutamic acid content for trial group were significantly higher (P<0.05) than those of control group.
