The utilization of resisting pest rice variety is one of the possible important strategies of controlling the storage pest. The percentage of gaping glume (PGG) of rice is an multi-resistance index of storage pest. Therefore, we can fistly study the character of gaping glume as hereditary character, The results are as follows:1 With the deep investigation of the different varieties, sub-varietiesrice from the rice resource pools, we have preliminarily understood the distribution of the PGG in different rice population, and have got several resisting pest varieties, and apply the rice variety of resisting storage pests for good parent materials to cross.2 To go on studying the genetic character of the PGG, We choose thirteen rice varieties as test material. The result follows: the ability of character hereditary variance (ACHV) is 94. 8%. The ACHV is relatively high , the ACHV constitution is mainly controlled by hereditary.3 With repeat test of six rice varieties (closing, opening glume), the PGG of the same variety is not obvious.4With additional four rice varieties repeat test at different planting date or different fertilization levels, the PGG of the progeny is not remarkably different. In a word, the ACHV of the PGG is in a leading position. 5 The AA pair arrange hybrid test of three varieties, The result shows that the ability of combination is different in different varieties, that Huajingzhan belongs to I type parent. Both the general combination ability(GAC) and the special combination ability(SAC) are high. If it crosses to other variety, The PGG of progeny can be high, so we can select high PGG combination; Huajingxian74 belongs to II type parent .As far as filial generation is concerned, there is high PGG superiority, but thesuperiority of PGG is not obvious, which is suitable for combination with inferior PGG. IR2058-43 5-3-2-2 belongs to III type parent, Crossing with other high PGG SAC varieties , we can select high PGG combination.6 With two rice CMS, maintainer of male sterile lines, restorer of male sterile lines, FI and F: progeny, the high PGG of hybrid rice is mainly dominated by sterile lines, GG is a hereditary character, ten characters related spines of Xieyou-57 cluster analysis indicate: 1) Gaping glume of real grains is remarkably correlation with count grains, but it is weak or minus relevant to the wrapping-neck property groups;2) Gapping-glume and wrapping-neck two properties groups have no correlation to spikelets;3)The PGG has no correlation with grains and gapping-glume and wrapping-neck properties groups.7 Blooming habits and anatomy of vascular bundle of eight varieties indicate that the same type variety, vascular bundle figure more, the PGG less, and the time of opening and closing glume shorter. |
