The factor affecting loss coefficient of windbreaks were analyzed. Windbreaks andbrushwood were deal with by momentum extraction model which was presented by Wilson. The flow fields through windbreaks was simulated numerically by the means of CFD softwareSTAR-CD for conditions of single-row,multi-row and that collocated with brushwood. In the process of calculation, turbulent viscosity coefficient in Reynolds time-meanequations was used. The equations were closed by "k-ε "turbulent model and the flow fieldswere calculated through SIMPLER program. The method of Wall functions was used near wall. For calculation results, the character of flow fields, such as relative wind speed, the velocityprofile and turbulent energy, were analyzed and compared. The influence made on fence effect bythe characteristic parameter of fabric of windbreaks such as type and porosity was analyed, and itwas analyzed tha windbreaks affected approaching flow so it could prevent sand blown by wind. The appropriate porosity and width of single-row windbreaks and the appropriate scheme ofwindbreaks system were asquired. The effect on flow fields through windbreaks made bybrushwood was analyzed at last. So availability advice was put forward in constructingwindbreaks system.
