Self-propelled Artillery Battalion With Communication Simulation System Design Study

To organize and conduct SP communication and keep it running smoothly is the kernel of the SP command. So it deserves an outstanding place and plays an important role in modern warfare. It is the basic means to support the command of the SP element and the important factor determining the result of war. But the SP communication system is made up of lots of equipments of different kind which are high price, long time taken in researching and producing, large amount investment and wasting in training. All of this brings many difficulties to the army's training and academy's teaching with actual equipment.To meet the needs of the army's training and academy's teaching, the paper is concentrated on the studying and illustration of the computer simulation of the part of the SP command automation system-communication system, which is being equipped to the army continually. This simulated system has the similar operational procedure and function with actual system. Many techniques and ways are used in simulation such as VC++ program language, database, three dimensions modeling with 3DMAX soft, OPENGL soft graphic interface etc. This simulated system is divided into three parts: command vehicle system, reconnaissance vehicle system and SP gun's system and most of the equipments on them such as the battalion (company) command and control computer, communication controller, SP gun terminator, information processor on reconnaissance vehicle, x frequency-hopping radio, single piece interphone of SP etc are simulated with instrument-virtualized technique. The data transmission and voice communication among corresponding units is realized through computer serial port and net.Commander can know well the full-course of the SP communication system operation in training through the simulated system and improve their skills, thus can operate the equipment correctly and conduct communication smoothly.
