Cultural Preservation And Development Of The Kunming City Historic District

During the time each era leaves a trace on the construction of the city, city becomes a historical and cultural phenomenon. For the great needs of the development of human civilization, it is important to save its context and the memory, continuity of the city. With the rapid development of the economy, the city construction advances with each passing day. During the process of development and transformation, the original appearance of the city has been more or less influenced, especially some historic neighborhoods and sites. Therefore, how to protect and improve the traditional architecture and historic neighborhoods has become an urgent task. This article starts from the origin of the historic neighborhoods of Kunming city, fully discussed the cultural heritage and current protection status, and with the process of investigation and interview, proposed the dynamic protection of the historic neighborhoods which based on the combination of the protection, utilize and development. And illustrate some views and proposals on the protection and development of the historic neighborhoods of Kunming city.
