Power transformer in a converting station is a key equipment of the electrical power system, as we know power transformer may has some potential fault, the traditional method is using some wokers to check the equipment constantly, but this method is too time-consuming and laborious. Nowadays in the electric utility industry the method used on a large scale is on-line monitoring technology. This new method not only saves a lot of manpower and resources, but also enables the maintainance of the power transformer to get better results. The ultimate goal of this project is to use thermal infrared imager to implement a 24-hour uninterrupted on-line monitoring on a 110 kv transformer. The system uses the data collected by thermal infrared imager to realize intelligent temperature alarm, and upload the data to a remote server. This topic firstly analyzes the factors that influence the temperature measurement accuracy of thermal infrared imager, then do some reserch on the operating environment of the power transformer to choose the thermal infrared imager that fit for our system, finally use the SDK which is consistent with the thermal infrared imager to develop the backstage monitoring software system. The main research work for the software of this system are as follows:1) According to the operational status of power transformer, choose the best on-line monitoring mode, and design the capturing process on the basis of the install position of the thermal infrared imager and the monitoring distance of the device.2) According to the characteristics of the infrared image, choose the right image processing algorithm for the image preprocessing so that the infrared image can get the best visual effect.3) Select the appropriate database based on this system, design the proper data storage structure to facilitate the system to store and query data from the database.4) Design the right algorithm for infrared diagnosis on the basis of the latest diagnostic norms of infrared diagnosis so that the system can use the temperature data capturing by the thermal infrared imager to aquire the running state of the power transformer.5) According to the existing network structure of the power supply bureau, select the right transport protocols and transport process to ensure that real-time data can be uploaded to the monitoring center quickly so that the electrician can get the running state of the device.
