With the rapid advancement of computer technology, AC motor servo system had replaced DC motor servo gradually and been used widely. Besides, the application of modern control theories in servo system field stimulated the realization of high-speed, high-precision AC servo system.The first part of this thesis introduced vector control theory and Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation(SVPWM) Technology in detail, presenting realized steps and simulation of SVPWM Technology. Then based on previous current-loop and speed-loop design, the position loop had been designed with PID controller and intelligent PID controlled respectively to make a comparison of these two control algorithm. With the comparison results in Matlab/Simulink, the conclusion that adaptation of intelligent PID algorithm would improve performance of servo system has been proved.The rest part of this passage introduced a high-speed, high-precision position servo system research project. Since this project adapted KOLLMORGEN motor drive, the research focused on the design of position loop where intelligent PID algorithm was used. This part detailedly discussed both the hardware and software design, the hardware part introduced how to design the control board and the overall system, while the software part introduced soft design including reading position signal, D/A digital control and etc.This research showed that the introduction of intelligent PID algorithm would enhance the static and dynamic performance of position servo system. The response of step, ramp and sine single were all excellent and satisfied.
