With the rapid development of our expressway construction, highway maintenance has been paid much attention by road traffic management departments. The development environment and objective situation of our road construction put forward realistic require on road maintenance and rehabilitation technology. And the exploitation and application of new technology of road maintenance and rehabilitation are needed. Polymer grouting technique which developed in the 1970s is a rapid maintenance technique of infrastructure as road and so on. As a new road maintenance and rehabilitation technology, domestic studies on polymer grouting material are still almost in blank. Aiming at status, the physical and mechanical properties of polymer and grouting material are studied based on test. Some theoretical foundation reference was provided for the maintenance technology of polymer grouting technology.In this paper, the main work:(1) Water immersion of polymer grouting material is done and water quality analysis experiment or soaking water are made by chemical method to evaluate the environmental protection performance of polymer grouting material. The results show that polymer grouting material under the situation of long term soak is accord with environmental standards and sanitary criterions and can not cause pollution and damage of nature.(2) Bending test of different density of polymer grouting material is done to study the anti-fold capability about it. The maximum bending force and anti-fold capability are increased by increasing the density of polymer grouting material through tests.(3) The relationship of polymer grouting material density and elastic model is studied through unconfmed compression test of concrete and pure paste of polymer grouting material. The results showed that the elastic modulus of polymer grouting concrete is high as the grout density is large under the situation of almost the same coarse aggregate mass. The strength value of unconfmed compressive strength of polymer pure paste is lower than polymer concrete of approximate density, but the elastic modulus is bigger.(4) The correlations between tensile strength and modulus and between tensile strength and density of polymer injecting material is obtained by the split tensile tests, and the stress-strain behaviors are calculated from the data of the tests. The results show that the splitting tensile strength is bigger with the largen density of grout.(5) The effects of polymer grouting technology can be evaluated by engineering practices. The results show that polymer grouting technology has advantages of rapid, endurance, economy and protection paralleled with the traditional way. Therefore, there are remarkable economic and broad prospects of this method.
