| Thermal cracking of asphalt pavements is a main damage in cold climates. It has been observed in most part of northern China.The contents of this paper is based on the trial pavement of Jing-Wang express highway, this paper analyzed the mechanism of the low-temperature cracking in asphalt concrete pavement and the influencing factors. The test specimens were made by a rolling device. The low-temperature bending tests under a temperature of -20℃,-10℃and 0℃were conducted on MTS. By analyzing the test data, the author obtained the fracture toughness of asphalt concretes. The fracture toughness of the asphalt concrete at different conditions, such as temperature, graduation, grade of asphalt and with or whthout plaste were compared, which is of reference value to the design of asphalt mixture in low temperature. |
