The specific rock mass structure was generated under the control of discontinuities in the rock mass, whose form determines the stability of rock mass. Therefore, discontinuities are particularly important for the stability of jointed rock slopes, which are cut by a number of different discontinuities each other.In this paper, discontinuities in the rock mass are taken as the main subject of investigation because of influencing the stability of jointed rock slopes. The application of probability theory and principle of mathematics statistics analysis measured data to establish the group of geometrical characters of discontinuities of the probability-density function. And then using Monte-Carlo stochastic simulation method, sampling has been got manual random variable with the actual distribution function of parallel or homologous through simulation according to known density function. Thereby the diagram of network simulation of discontinuities in the rock mass was produced. Base on VB and Matlab mixed programming techniques, a mixed-jointed rock mass distribution of Monte-Carlo computer assisted simulation software was developed to achieve 2D network simulation system operation of visualization of discontinuities in the rock mass. The problem of process in the key parts of the relevant modules were really solved among particularly grouping of discontinuities, method of least squares estimating numerical eigenvalue of geometrical characters of discontinuities and random number and probability model distribution etc.The use of diagram of network simulation of discontinuities in the rock mass has carried out that the network model of discontinuities was applied to the numerical one, which made it feasible to consider the influence of discontinuities in course of analyses of the finite element method when evaluating the stability of jointed rock slopes, respectively, through the establishment of jointed element model and the introduction of damage mechanics to deal with discontinuity problems regarding it as continuous medium with the similar method of strength reduction.Finally, the study of the stability of jointed rock slopes was preliminarily applied application with real project of factitial slope for BaiLong nuclear plant, it is proved that it is feasible to expand services for engineering applications within these methods and means.
