The performace of train brake disc plays an important role in train safety. With the development of the high-speed and heavy-duty train, traditional experience design and manual analysis calculation could not meet the design requirements of train brake disc. CAD / CAE integrated design is a new, generalized CAD design-model. The efficiency and quality could be improved greatly on design and analysis of train brake disc by researching and using CAD / CAE integrated design system of train brake disc.Based on comprehensive analysis on the structure, working principle, design requirements and design processes of train brake disc, theoretical model of analysis and calculation involving in stress field, temperature field and thermal - stress coupled field of train brake disc is summarized, which is theoretical basis of design calculation and finite element analysis of train brake disc.IDEF and modular design is applied to design CAD / CAE integrated design system of train brake disc. The system is divided into four modules—basic brake-calculation, parametric design, automatic finite element analysis simulation of train brake disc and CAD / CAE integrated device, which are intergrated into one by integrated user interface. The system function and working mechanism of respective modules is analyzed in detail. Along with the design of CAD / CAE integrated Scheme of train brake disc, the parametric design and finite element analysis of train brake disc could be automatically contacted and integrated.After the discussing of parametric design methods, 3D modeling and assemble modeling steps in 3D enviroment are summed up. And 3D parametric design process of train brake disc is established, which make it easy to realize the parametric design of train brake disc. On the basis of Solidworks API, the parametric design software is developed for automatic 3D modeling and assembles modeling of fricting ring and disc wheel. Therefore, the automatic 3D modeling and assemble modeling technology based on Solidworks API is analyzed in detail. In order to meet the demand of finite element numerical simulation of train brake disc, finite element analysis flow and numerical simulate process in static stress field and transient temperature field and thermal-stress coupling field of train brake disc are analysed and optimized. By using the secondary developing technology of ANSYS based on APDL, finite element automatic analysis and simulation software modules is developed, which is realized automatic analysis and simulation in stress field, temperature field and thermal-stress coupled field of train brake disc.
