Since the 1960s, a lot of large scale blackout accidents happen all around the world. Although the probability of totally blackout is small, the influence of blackout has also become larger and it seems to be inevitable. From the experience of the ice hazard and earthquake in 2008, the study of power system restoration is very meaningful. The main countermeasure for blackout is the schemes set down in advance on the assumption that blackout is happened. Then when blackout is really occurred, dispatcher can be skilled to operate the restoration procedure according to the schemes prearranged. Black-start experiments are the most important work in the preparation for power system restoration. The restoration plans to verify the feasibility is of great significance.This dissertation is mainly about the study of restoration experimentation schemes of Shandong province power system. This dissertation not only related to the development of the black start program, also carries out a detailed test preparation and scheduling arrangements for the operation process, to test the existence of a solution to various problems.The restoration experimentation is carried from a pumped-storage unit to a remote thermal generator set and then to the whole system. The pumped-storage unit is in Taishan power station. When it has been black-started, it is arranged to energizing the long transmission lines linked with 5# generator set of Shiheng power station. With the power resources, ancillary electrical motor of 5# generator can be started. The next procedures are the start-up of 5# generator and paralleling with systems. We simulated the whole operations with different simulator tools for examination the potential problems include the transient over voltages, steady over voltages, resonance over voltages, frequency decline, and others. The simulation results are safe for various restoration operations. The stability and security are the emphases of the studies.Due to the policy for administration of related government, the practical experimentation is delayed till now. The results of this dissertation are waiting for validating through practice. More constraint conditions should be studied in the following work.
