Being taken as the study object, the flow around a certain AAM (air-to-air missile) thrust vector jet vane and the motion law of it was analyzed. Through establishing corresponding physics mathematical model and choosing the appropriate solution method, the paper completed the numerical simulation on the around unsteady flow and analyzed the aerodynamic characteristics of jet vane.Some achievements and experience about aerodynamic characteristics of the jet vane had been obtained by the calculation of steady flow around the jet vane. It was only through the unsteady computation and analysis, people can simulate the flow field change which the jet vane rotation created better, and can obtain the force and the force moment which the control mechanism needs precisely. On the basis of the steady flow, the paper used the Fluent software, by choosing 3D viscosity turbulence model and using dynamic grid technology, and carried out the unsteady numerical simulation around the vector thrust vector engineer and the outside flow field around the jet vane, and obtained the forces and force moments with the change of rotation angles. Finally, from the two aspects of the flow change and calculation itself, research and analysis of the jet vane aerodynamic characteristics on the unsteady simulations was carried out and the result was useful for the aerodynamic design of certain AAM jet vane.
