The reliability problem of fuze is very outstanding. At present, fault tree analysis (FTA) and failure mode effect and criticality analyses (FMECA) are the popular methods for analyzing the reliability and evaluating the risk of the fuze system. They are both suitable for analyzing the reliability of the system with just two states including success and failure and no time sequence or not considered. They just reflect the state of the system on the special moment and are static analysis methods in essence. Oriented by success, goal oriented (GO) methodology is a method for analyzing the reliability of the system. It can be applied to analyze the reliability of the system with multistate and related-time, especially actual material flow progress system.The characters and functions owned by GO methodology are satisfied to solve the multistate problems during the reliability analysis of the fuze system. It has a very important significance for analyzing the reliability of the fuze accurately, conviently and fast.It also offers the theory reference for diagnosing the failure of the system and directs the reliability designing during the research and manufacture of fuze more accurately and effectively.Firstly, the basic theory of GO methodology was introduecd in details, an example was applied to show the way how to analyze the reliability with GO methodology and the GO operators used more frequently in fuze system were introduced and summarized according to the requirement of the fuze system's reliability analysis. Secondly, GO methodology was applied to module the actual fuze system based on the structure chart and the theory of GO methodology. Then, the general framework of the GO methodology program was proposed and the computer aided ananlysis (CAA) program of GO methodology was compiled by Visual BASIC Language to meet the demand of engineer application .The software realized the function to analyze the reliability of the fuze primarily. In the end, the fuze system was also analyzed by the methods of FTA and FMECA. The results showed that GO methodology could be applied to analyze the reliability of the fuze system and its CAA program could be treated as one of the means to solve the calculation problem of the fuze's reliability.
