The lightweight of cartridge is emphasized more and more in the world.In this paper the deformation law of light material cartridge under the pressure and heating of powder gas is studied.According to the physical interaction process of cartridge with cartridge chamber,the system model of the cartridge with cartrige chamber is built.The thermal response and structural response of cartridge with cartridge chamber is analysed by elastic-plastic theory,axisysmetric theory and contact theory of noniinear FEM.Second, based on the ANSYS software platforms.a parametric model is built bv using APDL.The stress and strain of light cartridge is calculated under the maximum bore pressure and the difference between the steel cartridge and the Hght cartridge is compared under the same condition.Then the dynamic response of the cartridge with different friction coefficient or different shut clearance is presented.These influencing factors in the dynamic response of the cartridge are analysed and compared and many useful acquaintanceships and conclusions are gained.Finally based on the temperature field of cartridge and the thermal stress of cartridge.the structural response and thermal analysis has been carried out and the coupled thermo-mechanical finite element analysis has been finished.
