Mixed-signal Analyzer Logic Module Hardware Design

Mixed signal analyzer is a new test instrument which develops on the basis of digital oscilloscope and logic analyzer. Mixed signal analyzer not only has the logic analyzer's multi-channel function and strong triggering function, but also has the oscilloscope's observing the signal's amplitude function and automatic measurement function of parameters. In addition, mixed signal analyzer can achieve synchronous analysis and interactive trigger between the digital signal and the analog signal. Therefore, mixed signal analyzer can better adapt to the signal integrity test requirements of the high speed and complex systems. It is an indispensable integrated instrument in the field of modern testing.The logic sampling module, as one of the important components of the mixed signal analyzer, requests higher sample rate,more memory size, interactive trigger and the screen renovating speed of the whole system.Based on the above requests and the hardware design of the logic module in the high speed mixed signal analyzer, this paper details the architecture of the hardware system with the function and implementation of each module, as well as explores research on the technology of higher sample rate, extending the memory size, interactive trigger and its screen renovating speed.The main work in this paper is:1. The design of the logic data sampling channel, including the design of the logic probe, the digital process of the signal, as well as the design of analog and digital signal multiplexing circuit.2. The technology of auto/single sampling display based on dual memory system, including the data sampling, the control circuit of memory, the module of data compressing, the dual memory system and the time generator circuits design.3. Design and realization of the PCI interface circuit between the data sampling module and the main control computer. The way to interface with PCI bus was put forward based on its specialty.4. The hardware debugging and the design amelioration.
