This subject is based on the GPS positioning theory, and it puts forward a regional positioning system for a certain type of guided artillery. The system is used for guiding and controlling the guided artillery within a certain region. It is an independent positioning system, which can get rid of the GPS satellite signal's interference. Under this background, a transmitter is designed to satisfy the requirements of the regional positioning system.In this paper, the general scheme for the regional positioning system transmitter is designed based on studying and analyzing the RF communications and spread spectrum technology, etc. The ARM7TDMI LPC2103 is the core processor of the transmitter, and it can get the control commands and navigation data messages by communication with the host computer. The C/A code of the transmitter is generated in CPLD logic integrated circuits by using VHDL languages. The self-designed PN code with better anti-interference and confidentiality can prevente the GPS signal interference effectively. The carrier signal is generated by using the transmitter chip integrated PLL ADF4360-4, meanwhile, the spread spectrum code is modulated to the carrier signal by using BPSK modulation. The modulated carrier signal is to be the signal of the transmitter after RF amplification.The hardware and software design for function modules of the transmitter was completed in this paper. The signal of the transmitter was tested and verified by spectrum analyzer and oscillograph. The experimental results show that the design of the regional positioning system transmitter meets the requirements of predesign.
