Because of their series of advantages, reinforced concrete special-shaped column-frame structure is more and more popular in the recent years. According to the basic principles of economic land-use, wall innovation, conservation of building energy and reuse of industry waste, residence system of reinforced concrete arbitrary section column-frame structure has been developed. Its building function is prior to that of reinforced concrete rectangle column-frame structure system and has a technical and economic potential advantage.In China, the study of multiplayer reinforced concrete arbitrary section column-frame structure system has achieved a high level and has a wide application to the actual situations. However, in some areas with high intensity earthquake before the systematic study of reinforced concrete arbitrary section column-frame structure seismic capability and design methods, the system of reinforced concrete arbitrary section column-frame and frame shear-wall structure has been used in many areas. Therefore, the further study of this topic should be more necessary and has a great theoretical and practical value.A 1:8 10 - story special-shaped column frame-shear wall structure is tested on the shaking table. Dynamic characteristics of the models are analyzed. Acceleration responses, displacement responses, and the changes of period, rigidity and damp followed as the structures slowly lose their abilities. According to test results, weak parts and fracture mechanics are pointed out and the seismic abilities of the structures are estimated.Finally, some suggestions for design and structural measures for residence system of reinforced concrete special-shaped column-frame structure are mentioned from the above study.
