The Application Of Computer Software In The Direct Lightning Stroke Protection Work

The calculation of the protection area of more than two lightning rods which are not the same height is a difficult problem in the field of lightning protection , about which even China's national codes cannot give a solution, for there is a to be solved . The solution of such a equation needs professional mathematic knowledge, which is beyond the ability of common technician.This article here provide a practical solution , which could meet the demand of lightning protect project. This solution uses the technology of computer software , through mass iterative calculation, to check up every possible point in a given space at the precision of millimeter, and at last gets the point which meets the demands. This point is just the answer of the equation. For this purpose, we made a software, which could calculate the protection area of at most four lightning rods which are not the same height and arranged in a irregular way, make a conclusion whether it is safe to protect the building or object which need to be protected, and draw a sketch map to showcase the protection area.This article describes the design structure , the main technical difficulty and the solutions of the software. At last , a real example of lightning protection project is given to explain the distinguished advantage of this software in the reducing of cost and improvement of lightning protection effort , compared with some other common solutions.
