The radar is the first highly mobile 3D radar developed by 14TH Research Institute ofChina Electronics Technology Group Corporation.In this paper, the basic theory on finiteelement method which can be used for analysis of radar structure is introduced, the principlesand methods of the statical analysis and optimized design for radar structure is described. Twokinds of structures of radar systeln are given,and the finite element models for radar systemsare set tip separatedly.A large quantity of calculation data is provided by using finite elementsoftware---ANSYS to make strength analysis. At the same time the optimization analysis andcalculation of the radar system with a single "Ⅱ" structure are made,and many validmeasures are provided so as to meet with the specifications of weight ang rigidity which areassigned in advance. The validity of the models and the calculation results are verified bymeans of the electric tests of the radar system; Some basic conclusions of the structure of theradar system and the structure desigm which should be paid attention to are put forward in it.The methods for the finite element analysis of the radar structure and the data ofcalculations and tests which are given in this paper are very significant in theory andapplicable in the area of the further spread and application of CAD/CAE and the optimizationdesign ang development in radar industry.
