As the determinant criterion of eligible AC relay, AC yawp is an important qualityindex which needs testing. At present, artificial sampling testing method is actually used inproduction. But this method is hard and time-consuming, not subjective, and the productquality can not be guaranteed. An on-production-line testing system is badly needed.However, it is usually very noisy in manufacturing workshops, and the yawp is very weak.Under such large amount production, it is hard to test online.This paper proposed a research idea. Through the analysis of AC yawp characteristics,finding the parameters, we search for a fast online testing method and the designing ideafor the on-production-line testing system.When testing the yawp signal, considering the spot noise and the resulting lowsignal-noise ratio of sound-testing, the paper proposed a new vibration testing methodwhich excludes out these disadvantages, such as perturbation. In the analysis of AC yawp,according to the DSP theories, taking MATLAB as a tool, this paper analyzes the time andfrequency spectrum characteristics of signal gathered through both sound and vibrationmethods, and also finds the parameters and identification methods.According to the analysis of AC yawp parameters, the paper proposed a hardware testcircuit for fast online testing, including absolute value, band-pass filtering, determinationof AC yawp, etc. We also designed a special power supply for AC relay testing, and theexperiment verified its practicability, this made a good base for the research of AC yawponline testing machine.
