The effect of scour on the piers was analysed on the basis of previous researchs and explorations as well as elementary calculation in this paper. The main contents are included: geologic examination, underwater exploration, subgrade bearing capacity checking, pier check computation without scour effect, analyse of the impact of different scour case on piers' check computation items, the calculation of local scour depth, and so on. In the part of underwater exploration many precious picture was obtained, which provided very important gist for the estimation of piers' performance and for the survey of local scour; in the part of analyse of the impact of different scour case on piers' stability, the programme written by Matlab, realized the calculation of the effect of different scour area on the piers' check computation items, found out the curve's expression by least squares curve fitting method and drew the influence curve; in the part of the calculation of local scour depth, the effect of grain diameter on local scour depth was analysed mainly. Results showed that: compared with other check computation items, the flexibility horizontal displacement of pier's top and the eccentric distance first reached the allowable value when a less scour happened, so the countermeasures should be taken according to this two items; there were obvious relations between grain diameter and local scour depth, which provided reference for the measures to decrease scour depth. Synthesizing the result and exploration report, finally the piers' treatment opinions were put forward in the conclusion.
