The fluxgate magnetometer is a kind of technology that has a great application potential and a widespread prospect. The magnetic measure instrument is used to measure feeble magnetic field and it was first applied in the measure of space magnetic field. At present it is applied in many fields such as research on geomagnetism, exploration, detonation and magnetic measure of outer space.Traditional magnetic measure instrument is an analog device, which is easily affected by the change of surrounding condition. With rapid development of computer and information technology, the digitization is the development tendency. Digital fluxgate magnetometer has wide measuring range and quite high precision in measuring magnetism. With compact structure, small volume, light weight, low power, good shock-proof and high stability, it is fit for high speed movement and can measure automatically and continuously.This paper introduces whole construction of the high precision navigate magnetism gradient measurement system, and discusses a kind of magnetometer used in this system in detail --fluxgate magnetometer. Firstly, this paper presents the whole structure frame of the navigate magnetism gradient measurement system, and based on it analyses the work principle. Then introduce software and hardware design of the entire digital fluxgate magnetometer, as well as design of the interactive graphical interface between man and machine. At last, analyze data gathered from the fluxgate magnetometer, summarize structure performance of the system, and put forward aspects that need to improve.
