| In the course of designing, building and post-construction settlement controlling, the development process and the final magnitude of building settlement are problems that cannot be neglected all along. It is significant in the society and economy if the building settlement can be accurately predicted and the development profile of the building settlement be determined. Then an academic theory can be afforded for constructing safety, controlling the rate of the construction progress and settlement controlling design. At present, the theory of the soil consolidation is not sufficiency. The existing predict approaches usually set up the mathematics relation according to curve fitting the practical discrete settlement data of the idiographic buildings. Then, the settlement of the building can be extrapolated, but the predicted result has an error compared with the monitored result. It is not a suitable way to ascertain the development profile of building settlement. First, the predicting models of the gray system are studied and verified whether they are feasible. Then the Parameter Inversion Analysis Predicting (PIAP) model is put forward on the base of the current Chinese National Code calculation theory of composite foundation. It is testified by seven practical projects in Zhengzhou. The main contents and results are as follows.(1) The predicting model of the gray system can predict the early days settlement of the building, but there is a great error to predict the final settlement of the building. It is not coincidental to the general principles of the building settlement. So it is not suitable to predict the settlement of the composite foundation building.(2) The PIAP model is put forward on the base of the National Code calculation theory of composite foundation. The predicting model takes into some factors such as the field, structure features, structure loads and the time to the developed settlement.(3) It is testified by seven practical projects. The results show that there is a little error in the model, it is suitable to predict the settlement of the composite foundation building. |
