In the days of technology of communication developed swift, high—power microwave technologies have been used widely in all kinds of fields. So the radio tubes tied up this technology are becoming more and more important. One of them—travelling wave tube, the request to its performance is enhanced . Medium pole is one of its important parts. When designing for slow wave system of travelling wave tube. medium pole's loading slow wave system influences the dispersive characteristic of slow wave system of travelling wave tube directl. So we must measure how the electromagnetic parameter of medium pole distribute along axis exactly. At present , in our country the discernable ratio of measuring to the distributtion of the electromagnetic parameter along the pole's axis may attain five milimetres .Common way to measure this parameter is by applying the rectangular syntony antrum or columned syntony antrum whose size is more bigger than one millimetre. To improve the discernable ratio to one milimetre, these syntony antrums become nail—biting . This paper aims at how to break through finitude of five milimetres and make the discernable ratio improve to one millimetre, researches correlative theories , makes relevant ways to measurement and sets up system for measurement . The main research work includes:One: Though analysing of the relevant measurement technology, we decided to use syntony cavity with ladders to measure, and found correlative model in theory; Narrowly analysing and demonstrating for syntony cavity with ladders. Deducing correlated formulas; On this basis ,deducing the formular for using to measure and analysing for syntony cavity with external coupled circuits .Two: Applying the theory of impedance matching to design the syntony cavity with ladders, Working out the measuring principle, setting up system for measurement .Three: At X—wave band, testing all kinds of bacilliform samples, thereby checking up the correctness and precision of theory.The result indicates that the theory is correct, the system designed according to the theory discussed in the paper may test all kinds of bacilliform samples efficiently, credidility, nondestructively, high discernable. So the practicability is predominant .
