With the rapid development of the tunnel project in recent years, the problem of tunnel fire protection is claiming more and more attention. Though fire protection and evacuation equipments have been standardized to a certain extent in our country, it is far away from perfect. What's more, there are also application problems in these standards. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to study how to evacuate people safely in case of tunnel fire with the performance-based design method. The performance analysis of safety evacuation is one of the most important issues in designing tunnels. The analysis of personnel safety evacuation in road tunnel has its generality and particularity, that is, it should follow the general steps of performance analysis, but should also conducted according to structural characteristics and evacuation equipments of the tunnels. The main contents of this thesis can be summarized as follows:1,By contrasting present situation and development trend for tunnel fireproof research at home and abroad, the deficiencies of current research in our country are presented. What's more, a new excellent method on how to safely pull out of fire in tunnels has been constructed. The function goal of the safety evacuation has been confirmed. It requires all personnel evacuating to safe places under designed fire situation, which makes the assessing process more reasonable.2,On the basis of the spatial characteristic of the tunnel, the safety evacuation standards was proposed. The lengthways size is more than transverse size in tunnel, and available safe evacuation time (ASET) is the function of position parameters, so the required safe evacuation time (RSET) for personnel in tunnel is subject to the position parameters x, which means RSET (x)
