The study object of this paper is a new kind of power setting called ElectricPower Confined Piston Engine(ECPE). This device mainly applies to the HybridElectric Vehicle (HEV). It based on the analysis on the problems of the conventionalpower supply on the HEV. It integrates the engine and the liner generator. It is light inweight and small in size with a simple structure. It is effective obviously in powerpromoting, energy and material saving. It improved the problems of theengine-generator system, such as the complex structure, match problems and energywaste. At first, this paper analyzed the three hot-electricity conversion systems,Oil-Electric Engine, Electric Power Free Piston Engine (EFPE) and ECPE, andcompared the merits and faults of them. The analysis shows that ECPE can conversethe heat energy released during the burning into electrical energy directly, effectivelyand conveniently. It is a new, economic and environment-friendly hot-electricityconversion system. It then shows the structure and working principle of ECPE, and analyses thekinematics and dynamics. It also does the theoretical derivation, simulation analysisand experiment research. The result shows that ECPE has the same principle as theOil-Electric Engine. It can generate sine-wave current, the maximal electric pressureof no-load condition can reach to 210V. The result of the experiment and thesimulation is just the same. The conclusion that the magnetic field of the electricmotor is constant reached by the finite element method have further testified thecorrectness of classics theoretical derivation as well as the no-load experiment studies. At last, it does experiment of Single-cylinder ECPE, analyses the no-loadcharacteristic and the external characteristic. It shows that this motor has the samecharacteristics as the AC-generator, and it can on-line.
