Abstract/Summary:
The large-scale steel plants produce a great deal of surplus coal gas, which including blast furnace gas, coal oven gas, converter gas and so on during the production. The traditional way of dealing with the surplus coal gas is discharging into atmosphere or burning in the general boilers. This way not only wastes energy but also pollutes the environment. Moreover, the surplus coal gas cannot be used adequately as the fuel because the boiler's efficiency is comparatively low. The steel plant is attaching importance to high efficient for using the surplus coal gas along with the scanty energy and the strict request of environmental protection. The combined cycle power plant (CCPP) using surplus coal gas of steel plants can recover discharged low heat value coal gas, which is used to generate electricity and supply heat, and the efficiency of heat-electricity conversion can reach to 40%-58%. The CCPP has obvious energy-saving and environmental protection effect. The steel plants install CCPP firstly to make use of the surplus coal gas. Therefore, the study of configuration of CCPP in the steel plant is very necessary. The study aims to present the optimized configuration of CCPP, which can use the surplus coal gas furthest and guarantee the safety production in steel plants. The study also possesses theoretical direction meaning.Beginning with the energy consumption and present utilize in the steel plants, this paper has introduced the domestic and foreign development condition of CCPP, the characteristic of CCPP and the energy-saving benefit in the steel plants and has put forward to the content of the study in the paper. This paper studies the configuration scheme of CCPP theoretically using the surplus coal gas of steel plant as the object. The main investigative content includes the aspects as follows:1. The regularity of distribution of the surplus coal gas is obtained after analysing and studying the feature of surplus coal gas whose quantity changes randomly according to the production technology in steel plant. The mathematical model ofthe rule of surplus coal gas's production and consumption in the steel plant is made certain in the end.2. Several main principles of configuration scheme of CCPP which have the same capability are discussed in the paper. Some general technological process in the steel plant are introduced and compared. The means of confirming the configuration scheme of CCPP in the steel plant and the principles of appraising the configuration scheme are presented at last.3. The effect on the capability of CCPP due to the fuel's heat value and the meteorologic condition change is studied in the paper. The performance curves based on several influencing factor are fitted and the mathematical models of correction which can estimate the capability of CCPP roughly are deduced by means of sorting and absorbing the data.4. The pressure fluctuation of the gas pipe web due to CCPP unit conk out and load throw-off are studied for ensuring the safe production in steel plant. The mathematical models of tidal current which can calculate the value of pressure fluctuation are deduced and the boundary conditions of the mathematical model are made certain.The purpose of the study in this paper is making use of the surplus coal gas optimally based on ensuring the safe production in steel plant. This paper has presented the reference and theoretical introduction to the configuration scheme of CCPP which uses surplus coal gas as its fuel.
