The high stability crystal clock is built in time server which tracks referenced time code and produces high performance time codes in time synchronization and time holding by executing time synchronous software.This time code information has various code format outputs with meeting the needs of different user.Time synchronous network is composed of time synchronous nodes according to time synchronous grade of principal and subordinate. Time server is an equipment unit of time synchronous node.It is highest level grade in time synchronous network for first level time synchronous node that gets and tracks the referenced time code from GPS, and deliver time code of IRIGB to second level time nodes. Second level time nodes deliver time code of IRIGB to third level time nodes again,that is deduced similarly in order. User end equipments acquire time code from the end level node of time synchronous network generally. The time code format is NTP mainly.In this way,the time code of all time synchronous nodes in same time synchronous network synchronize a GPS, The GPS time code accords with UTC of time unified standard. UTC time adds 8 equals to Beijing time.This paper has introduced the related knowledge of time synchronization and net building and depicted the design thought about time server of Datang Telecom Technology Co.,Ltd Optic Communication Branch from angle of product developing. The time server of Datang Telecom characterizes a lots of time code reference source choices and various kind of time code outputs, and its time synchronous precision accomplished toUTC is smaller than lms.The crystal clock of this equipment adopts high performance constant temperature OCXO, and the referenced time code comes from GPS or time server of higher grade. In addition, the algorithm of time synchronous software is completed by high performance embedded processor.
