As an important mode of modern airborne fire-control radar, Doppler Beam Sharpening (DBS) imaging can provide a large area of radar images in front of airborne radar with high resolution in its air-to-ground mode. Therefore, DBS radar imaging has been used in many fields such as military reconnaissance, ground match navigation and target recognition.DBS technique of airborne fire-control radar and its simulation are studied in this dissertation, which include analyses of basic DBS principle and signal processing, computer simulation of terrain-echo, Real beam ground mapping as well as DBS imaging. The main contributions of this study are as follows:1. Based on the principle of Doppler resolution theory, a DBS imaging processing scheme is developed. The differences between DBS imaging and SAR imaging are also presented.2. The method of choosing proper radar parameters for DBS imaging system is investigated. The processing methods for keeping constant Doppler beam sharpened ratio are also presented.3. Based on the analysis of the radar echo, the DBS echo simulation model is built up and the processing steps are presented. The simulation results show that the raw data satisfy the research of imaging method.4. The DBS imaging method is investigated, including the implement of pre-processing, Doppler filter, sub-images combination and so on. After this imaging process, the radar image with good resolution is obtained.5. The research results are applied to the project of airborne radar digital simulation system. The processing procedure is as follows: getting the system parameters and the proper terrain data, radar echo simulation, Real beam imaging, DBS imaging, displaying. The test results show that the method satisfy the requirement of this project.This dissertation analyses the DBS imaging of airborne fire-control radar. The computer simulation is successfully used in real system simulation project and the result is satisfied. The study of the dissertation is valuable for project application in DBS imaging.
