The history of ship electrical propulsion was almost 100 years. But because of the limitation of technology, it had not been widely used. In the last 20 years, with the development of power electronic technology, the technology of ship electrical propulsion was accepted by many ship owners and shipyard.First of all, the paper have a analysis of ship electrical propulsion technology, Three sorts of ship electrical propulsion system were introduced and researched. The Paper have a detail research of IPS(lntegrate Propulsion System) and the Permanent - Magnet Motor's Application In The Electric Propulsion Ship. It points' out that Modern Electric Propulsion is certain to be the best choice of our country's ship power systemA mathematics model in the form of differential equation was constructed base on the theory of PMSM motor structure. Then the model was changed into the form of transfer function. With the help of MATLAB, the model in the form of transfer function is build. After that, according the principle of the PMSM control, the control segment model is also build in the MATLAB.MATLAB/SIMULINK leads a superior advantage in the field of simulation. The paper build a model of electric ship power system, include the model of PMSM motor build in the precedent, the model of propeller, and the model of load flow. After the process of model simulation , the dynamic curve of electrical ship were drawn out. After the simulation of the system model, make the hardware experiment including the PSMS motor and the propeller load. The Simulink system model is verified through the experiment date. After have a summarize of paper, the paper point out some next steps such as how to integrate the model into the real-time simulation platform and realize the controllable and real-time of ship electrical propulsion model.
