Under certain temperature and pressure, fiber metal laminates are solidified by using metal sheet and fiber layer alternately. FMLs(fiber metal laminates) exhibit a mixture of the characteristics of both metals and composite materials, and overcome the disadvantage of both metals and composite materials; The FMLs , not only have the high specific strength and specific rigid, but also have good toughness and machining as the metals have. Especially, the most advantage of FMLs is that it has excellent fatigue and impact. Although FMLs have been used successfully out of our country, few people have studied the FMLs in our country.The basic forming property of GLARE have been studied. The parameter about forming and property of GLARE were got by Drawing experiment, Bending experiment and fatigue performance experiment. Performance parameters of the four different laminates was obtained through Drawing test. The analysis of stress - strain curve indicated, that these four kind of materials do not have obvious yield phenomenon, that different fiber direction affects the intensity and the module of laminates, the reason of tension failure was obtained from the analysis of destruction form of the test sample. The bend radius and rebound angle of the four laminates ,and how they are affected by temperature was got by Bending experiment.Riveting property of thermoplastic fiber metal plywood Al-Twintex and the Al-Curv was studied by experiment ,the Riveting process parameter was got.The experimental study indicated that, the damping speed, the lubricant, the pressure,the strength has the certain influence to Al-Twintex and the Al-curv of these two kinds of thermoplastic fiber metalplywood damping forming.Enhances of damping temperature to cause the Al-Twintex to enhance .the temperature between 80-120℃ is quite appriate. The temperature is not much obvious regarding Al-Curv.The methods and results of this paper was helpful in studying the forming of these kings of FMLs in experiments.
