| The 21st Century is a century for underground space. With the constantdevelopment of the subway-the main transportation form in undergroundspace, the lack of a standard subway guiding system may cause tremendousinconvenience to people, and even cumber economic and social development.The paper attempts, through aspects such as technological improvement,theoretical development of designing and its effect on the design ofsigns, to analyze and study the system of guiding signs in Nanjing'ssubway space, and therefore to discuss about the development of thedesigning system of signs under the background of global economy, variouscultures and informational society.
