At present , there is not a perfect systemic method of SMA mixture design in international , mostly are used traditional Marshell method of the volumn design , It has great difference with the asphalt design considering pavement performance . On the basis of three-level dispersed system of asphalt mixture , this paper defines AM as the ratio of asphalt mortar volume to coarse aggregate void volume and AP as the ratio of filler bitumen volume to fine aggregate void volume . Based on AM and AP , the paper put forward mix design method of SMA.By the subject example , the paper gave specitic step of this design , researched the range of AM , AP ; and appraisal this design by Marshell test and coherent pavement performance testing . For the using different ratio of filler bitumen , different nominal maximum size of aggregate ,different asphalt, the paper analyzed thoroughly the influence to AM , AP , then get some related rule . The paper gave a suit of simpleness and efficiency systemic appraisal scheme for the methyl cellulose from determining use level to performance evaluation ; for the problem of appreciation on coarse aggregate framework formation , an improved method for the criterion of framework is put forward .
