More and more of high buildings have been built in our country with developing the economics recently, The urban space structure has become very complex and the wind environment problems has been noticed increasingly. Wind load is a kind of important loads to the tower and mast structure, and it is indispensable in the structure design. So it becomes very necessary to study the wind load effect on the tower and mast structure. At present, field measurement, wind tunnel test and numerical simulation are the three major methods to study the distribution of the wind pressure on the buildings. The wind tunnel test is the most common one of them, and the method developed more maturity. Wind tunnel measurement needs much time and costs. Field measurement can only be taken after the structure has been built. It needs more costs than other methods, and it has restricted by season and field. The development of computer technology provides a new method for numerical simulation of wind loads on building structures. It became the hotspot in the research of wind engineering since it was born. When compared with the traditional method in wind engineering it had its own unique advantages. Simulate wind field around tower and mast structure expediently making use of computer simulation technique, gained wind velocity and wind pressure distribution, with this predict good and bad of the buildings planning and designing, and put forward the improving project, make design more reasonable, raise the quality and efficiencies of design. In this paper, Methods used here were wind tunnel test and numerical simulation. As objects of three numerical simulation of their mean wind pressure, a tower and mast structure were chosen. The full-scaled rigid model of these structures was constructed for numerical simulation, and grids for the fluid zones were generated properly. Using the standard k - ε mode and the Realizable k - ε mode to compute the steady wind flow field of the tower and mast structure. For the sake of analyzing wind velocity and wind pressure, discussing the feasibility and reliability of using this technology in the engineering. The results show that both the standard k-ε mode and the Realizable k-ε mode can simulate the distribute rule, and similar, in certain accord with experiment results as a result. Finally shortages and the problems need be solved of this technology were pointed out.
