The Regional Studies Of Xiamen City Color Landscape

Color plays an important role in a city because it not only reflects the total style and feature of a city, showing its cultural features, but also reflects its habitat. With the approaching of information society, communication of global information, and growing of culture merge, the features of color, which develop individually in different cities, are intending to be the same. It reveals the decline of the diversity of regional color. Thus, the research on landscapes of regional color and creation of unique color attracts more and more attention of city planning department.This paper proposes the subject — 'the region of urban colorscape' based on widespread-existed color problems on city planning. It mainly studies on Xianmen city, applying the theories of chromatology, color geography and architecture. At fist, the author investigates and studies on formulation of nature geography about regional color landscape, and the fact of humanism environment in Xiamen. And then, the author attempts to propose a series of strategies and ideas of layout on urban colorscape, according to the problem of region and exploring facts of urban color. The author still proposes the principles of layout design, model and practical method of layout control. At last, the author adopts case study of colorscape in Luqilou Street of Zhongshan Road, where reflect the most representative features of ancient cities.Through the study on this subject, the author hopes it can provide a practical way and theoretical evidence for layout design of regional colorscape in Xiamen. From the aspect of visual aesthetics and regional culture, urban colorscape is well showed, which is suitable to represent traditional regional culture and is comfortable urban color. This subject can promote the protection and development of humanism environment, and can create high quality habitat, and can reserve the regional architecture in Xiamen.The research on the region of colorscape is still a new field. The viewpoint of this article is based on the author's research and analysis of some relative theory after reading quantities of domestic and overseas data and field survey. From the point of mature and research system, the paper just is an initial achievement. It needs to be further verified, modified and developed in the practice of planning and design of urban regional colorscape.
