| Power split automatic transmission (PS-AT) is a new type of transmission system. PS-AT uses a new design project that combining the advantage of power split continuously variable transmission (PS-CVT) and that of automated mechanical transmission (AMT), so it could change vehicle speed ratio continuously and transfer a higher torque, at low cost. The electronic control system (ECS) for PS-AT is researched and developed in this paper. The ECS including hardware project and control software has been optimized and designed, based on prophase research. Integrative application of mechatronic, computer, automation technology and vehicle engineering is embodied in this project. The function and design principle of the ECS is researched and analyzed, and the whole design scheme of is developed according to the demand of project and practicality. The sensors and executors are selected and analyzed, and the fit project is designed combining the transmission needs. The key of ECS, electronic control unit (ECU) is developed self-determination. Firstly, the circuit scheme and software flow are achieved by computer aid design. Secondly, the print circuit board (PCB) is designed and processed. Thirdly, control software is developed based on embedded operating system and C language. At last, ECU is debugged and it could run normally. In this project, the first PS-AT prototype is developed, and the performance experiments are carried out with the ECS. The test-bed is designed and built, and a test software system is developed independently. The experiment was carried out on the prototype of PS-AT with the test system, during which the performance of the ECS was also tested and proved that it could meet the demand of the starting and shifting of PS-AT. |
