Just as it is friendly to experiment and has the energy conservation characteristic, adsorption refrigeration has the remarkable superiority in the low-grade energy use and the environmental protection aspect. It becomes one of the most promising future substitution technologies to the traditional vapor compression refrigeration and receives the technical personnel's attention from all over the world.In this text, a rotary adsorption refrigerator system has been designed practically. It is powered by solar energy, and it adopts the activated carbon fibre+ ethanol as its working pair. Furthermore, its operational principle, the refrigeration components, choosing the working pair and feasible theoretical analysis has been introduced in detail. The results show that this refrigerator has higher merit on simplifying manufacture, accelerating the refrigeration speed, rising thermal power coefficient and so on.Taking the solid adsorption refrigeration circulation as the foundation, each process of the refrigeration circulation has been thermodynamically analyzed. It has obtained the thermal differential equation of each stage from the cyclic process. Through optimizing the system, a mathematical model has been established, the detailed performance analysis has been carried on to the runner refrigerator too, and some regular conclusions have been drawn finally.According to the adsorption mechanism and the heat transfer theory, a corresponding mathematical model has been established for the key part—rotary adsorber composed of a series of little adsorption beds arranged as radiation shape and filled with activated carbon fibre. Both the establishment and the grid division for the model are carried on with ANSYS, which has carried on the dynamic simulation to the model too. Simultaneously, according to the characteristic of the solar powered adsorption refrigeration circulation, dynamic temperature distribution in the rotary adsorption bed has been calculated by utilizing the numerical heat transfer method under the condition that the bed has accepted certain sunshine radiating capacity. The result indicates that the key aspects to affect the operating performance of the rotary adsorption refrigerator are the adsorbing performance and the heat conduction performance of the adsorbent, the parameters of the adsorption bed as well as the cycle of the rotary bed. In the refrigeration research field with solar energy, it has provided the important theory basis to optimize the adsorption bed design, enhances the coefficient of system performance, and causes the solar powered rotary adsorption refrigerator to step to the market.
