In the practical production, there are many parts that can be looked like disk parts. For example, axletree and gear. Because of weariness, cracks always are finded in the disk parts. The diagnosis and identification of the crack length for the disk parts is attached importance to. Many scholars study it and put forward a new method and technology for the diagnosis and identification of the crack length. The fractal theory is applied in the diagnosis and identification of the crack length, this is the new trend in the academe. By applying the fractal theory, the crack length is qualitating and quantitating diagnosed and identified.Based on the multi-fractal theory, by calculating the vibration form, displacement, stress and strain, the general fractal dimension and sensitive dimension are as the characteristics for the diagnosis and identification of the crack length. The diagnosis and identification of the crack length is studied.By applying the general dimension correlation coefficient method, the program of general dimension correlation coefficient is programed. The general dimension of vibration form, displacement, stress and strain is calculated. Based on general dimension correlation coefficient, the methold of identification for the crack length is put forward. In the local range, applying the local linearity method, the crack length is identified. The calculating formula of crack length is obtained. The crack length is obtained by using the formula. By using the actual example, the precision of identification for crack length and actual crack length is obtained. This is proved that the local linearity method has some practicability for quantitating identifying the crack length.
