The development of the hypersonic aircraft provides a powerful impetus to the development of military and space technology, weapon system and even every aspect of science and technology. One of the important issues in the design of hypersonic aircraft is the thermal protection.In this thesis, the design and analysis of thermal protection system (TPS) of a certain hypersonic aircraft is performed. In chapter 2, the governing equations of the flow field and the numerical technique for solving it, i.e., the finite volume method, are briefly reviewed. Several types of turbulent modals are discussed. With these theories in hand, the analysis modal of the present hypersonic aircraft is established and solved, and the aero-thermal of the aircraft structure is obtained. By referencing the TPSs in many different types of aircrafts, the conceptual design of this aircraft's TPS is carried out in chapter 3. The aero-thermal calculation mentioned in the upper chapter is used to analyze thermal protection effect of this design. Chapter 4 mainly concerns the thermal structure analysis of the aircraft. The thermal field and stress of the nose and wings of the aircraft is computed using finite element method. The results show that the present design of TPS can meet the requirements of the hypersonic aircraft.
