Building glass curtain wall, made up of glass, supporting structure, supporting device, is a new style of architecture structure. It has been developing quickly in the world for its excellent artistic effects and structural properties, and it has been appearing vastly applied foreground. Point-supported glass curtain wall with the characteristic of clarity terseness and modern style , along with the advance of glass processing course and public building construction, it is to be widely used in the future too. Because of the constantly expanding of supporting structure, steel frame, meeting this need well, may be widely used in the point-supported glass curtain wall as the supporting structure. Point-supported glass curtain wall is not only a partly curtain wall, it has become to a glass building supported with the steel frame.Because the glass or metal board used in curtain wall is very thin, and usually has a wide area, analysis of the point-supported glass curtain wall must be conducted to ensuring the ability of safety and credibility to against the effect of wind. Static study of the supporting structure for the point-supported glass curtain wall is a main method now days, dynamical research and wind-induced response analysis is very lack. The main reason of wind vibration is a pulsant part of nature wind, unremitting vibration may bring large distortion and stress in the structure, and at the same time, it will bring fatigue damnification to the structure. With the development of science and technology, the supporting structure has been becoming more light, the product's dynamic characteristics are stressed. People pay more attention to dynamic research. But either dynamic modification or dynamic optimization is not widespread applied to engineering practice now days, the finite element analysis (FEA) model is not sufficiently used to develop the research for structural dynamic characteristics and wind-induced response analysis in the design course of project.In this study, firstly, according to the specialty of the supporting structure, the FEA model is established by shell element and beam element as basic unitusing CAE technology. The dynamic analysis is carried out using FEA software which gets ideal results of the natural frequency and vibration mode of the whole supporting structure. Based on the finite element method and pseudo-excitation method, the supporting system of glass curtain wall's response analysis of random vibration is completed, we also get the structure node displacement power spectral density function which can support theory for the dynamic modification and optimization.Depended on the dynamic research and the response analysis of random vibration, we carry out the research on the dynamic modifications. Based on FEA model, we discuss the algorithm of dynamic sensitivity. The differential algorithm for computing the dynamic sensitivity due to the FEA result is put forward to make it easy to realize by programs. We choose valid design variables to perform structural dynamic optimization and achieve some reasonable conclusions, we accomplish the frequency optimization, we efficiently improve the supporting structure's dynamic characteristics and static characteristics, at the same time we efficiently reduce the cost of the point-supported glass curtain wall.The research resulted in this paper is helpful to provide some beneficial exploration for applying the theory of dynamic characteristics research, response analysis of random vibration, dynamic modification and optimization to engineering practice. The general idea and method performing the dynamic modification and optimization based on the FEA model can be used to solve the dynamic modification problems of such complex structures. It is also a sample for applying the CAE technology to the modern architecture design, it has an essential application value in construction engineering.
