Computerized flat knitter is a kind of highly automated flat knit machinery, used mainly in fabrication of clothes and crafts by textile industry, and its major user is knitted sweater producer, especially cashmere ware producer. With the popularization of computerized knitting, those computerized flat knitters with high cost-performance and high integration are becoming more and more popular, and that kind of products are in great demand.Based on the analysis of the structure and theory of the system, this paper proposes a doable software design on the existed hardware platform(based on S3C2410 ARM and EP1K50 FPGA),and finishes the software coding. This system was provided with perfect knitter control function and good graphics user interface.The development of knitter control software is based on Linux environment, it communicates by GPIOs and has three composemnet: GPIO driver, knitter control program and Qt application. The main function of GPIO driver is providing the communication service between S3C2410 and EP1K50, it contains IO access, interrupt application and interrupt service program, which is the foundation of the system. Knitter control program is the main body of the system, it completes the whole process from input the knitter file to output floriated pattern. Qt application provides a beautiful and friendly GUI, it contains main interface, parameter setting interface and so on.Compared to the congener products, this system is more advanced and easily transplantted, it also performs well in field debug and has relatively high utility.
