With the development of economy, it is more necessay for power equipment to run reliably. Therefore, in the areas where high reliability and safety are required, the controlling and follow-up managing as to the power equipment are more and more important, the same with ship power station. The ship power station is the heart of electric power system on board, effecting on the safety at sea and economical benefit of the ships. The continuity, reliability and power supply quantity of ship power station directly influence the economical target, technical index and the vitality of ships. This thesis takes the ship power station as a relatively indepandent system, and studies some issues influencing the reliability of power station, with the purpose of achieving reliable control of the ship power station and its operation management in safety.The reliability and reliability engineering have been maturely applied on the areas of civil aviaton and thermo-electric power generating. However, it is lack on ship pwer station management, obviously not matching the development of the automatization technology in ship power system. This thesis introduces the basic concept of reliability, reliability of ship power system, as well as the task, content and mathod of studying, analyses several mathematic methods researching the reliability of ship power system, and expatiating their basic theories and measures. The emphases in this thesis are: (i) describing the ship power station reliability by use of Markov process, setting the calculating model for steady availability of power station and getting its answer;(ii) researching the contents, measures and achievement of RCM used on ship power station.With the automatical system designing of ship power station by means of advanced industry control and computor technology, the ship power station may run more reliably. The thesis designs a frequency-power automatical control unit based on PLC, enabling generators to run reliably even if in the event of heavy load fluctuating. The ship power station monitoring system based on CAN deals with data on real-time, achiving data exchanging through connecting the control unit with the monitoring and management unit by serial communication, with the resultant of ship power station running in safety and reliability.In combination with the author's working practice, the thesis brings forward the measures and advices of decreasing non-planning off-line, promoting the reliability.and the reliability design requirement for power station automatical system as well.It is sure for ship power station to greatly increase its operation reliability and shipping economical benefit also by attaching importance to advanced technology and managing thought applications on ship power station.
