The heavy steel truss, which adopted to joint suspendingly the ninth and the tenthfloor of the two independent building in the South and North along the building forScience and Experiments of Inner Mongolia University of Technology, was sitemeasured and analyzed by finite-element method in this article. And the stresscapability of the truss was researched. Therefore, it was put forward that joints ofheavy steel truss had some rigidity. At the same time, the site measurement, whichincludes pole stress of middle and end section, gusset stress, structure deflection andother elements concerned, was contrasted with the design result and the resultconcluded by finite-element method. After the analysis, it proves that the rationality of the pole section shape and thepole joint shape, the directness and reliability of the carry-over stress and the lownessof the degree of the stress concentration. Secondly, it shows that the heavy steel trusshas some rigidity at the joints. And the design was satisfied with the request, when itconsidered the effect of the rigidity of the joints. When it was analyzed byfinite-element method, it was proved that the model was rational, the calculationmethod was right and its result accorded with stress status of the site measurement. Finally, the site measurement shows that the effect from the unorderly placement ofmaterial during construction on structure is biggish. Accordingly, some advices forconstruction processes were advocated.
