With the increasing quantity of the auto in China and running short of petroleum and with the tightening of exhaust emission standards, it is necessary to more accurately control A/F in a stoichiometric proportion. Though modern autos are assembled EFI system, the precision of A/F controlling is still not enough. It still need to improve the precision of A/F. In order to improve the precision of A/F, it need to well and truly measure the flux of the air. The purpose of this paper is researching the intake process of the gasoline engine.A mean value model had been founded in the paper and then the author revised the model. The two kind of models were simulated in MATLAB/Simulink and then the results of models had been compared. The author also set up the thermodynamics and fluid dynamics models for the gasoline engine and then these models were simulated in RICARDO WAVE.In order to validate the validity of the model set up by author, a set of experiment has been done in gasoline engine. The experiment result show the model has good validity in many operation conditions.
