Sense and destroy armor artillery projectile is a kind of smart exactly attacking tank top armor's projectile which accumulate advanced sense technology ,photoelectron , computer technology , information transacting technology and explosive formed projectile (EFP) technology. EFP warhead technology is the key technology of sense and destroy armor artillery projectile.Test is a traditional way to design a main charge of sense and destroy armor artillery projectile. In this paper, on the basis of others' , using theory analysis and numerical simulation technology to get well shaped EFPs , and reasonable velocity. We decide the key parameter first: the material of the EFP, type of detonator and EFP, the length of detonator, the thickness of cover and so on; then simulate the power of the EFP , the results show us it is satisfied; after that simulate the interference of antenna cover and the shell. Base on the shape and the velocity of the EFP, we bring forward a betterment project, make it satisfy the design request.For both copper and tantalum, we bring forward reasonable projects. There is a 20%~25% betterment between the tantalum and copper projects by contrast. Tantalum is a better choice for the request of battlefield.So the simulation has an advantage in shorting time , saving money and improving quality of production.
