Cartesian grid is becoming one of popular choices in simulating the flow around a complex geometry due to their advantages of automatic and fast grid generation. Recently, the method of generation and calculation has been used to simulate the moving body problem. In this article, the Cartesian grid generation method and the rigid motion of the computational domain method are researched by the author. The Cartesian grid is generated based on geometric and the body curvature. Some optimize methods are adopted to deal with special problem in calculating unsteady flow. The rigid motion of the computational domain method is adopted to simulate unsteady flow while combining the cell-centered finite volume method and four-stage Runge-Kutta pseudo-time stepping scheme with standard convergence acceleration techniques. In this paper, 2-D and 3-D unsteady flow fields are computed. The results of solving the unsteady flow fields are in agreement with the experiments which show the unsteady flow field solver is correct and the calculational method in this article is well and robust. So the unsteady flow field solver can be applied to various kinds of problems with moving bodies.
