Cement mixing pile is a effective technique of the soft treatment, which has virtues of no noise, no pollution, saving investment and taking good effect. With the construction of highway in China, cement mixing pile is widely used. As far as the research of composite ground with cement mixing pile is concerned, the research of composite ground with cement mixing pile on theory can't keep up with the application of composite ground with cement mixing pile. Especially, the settlement law of composite ground with cement mixing pile hasn't been well acquainted.Based on the practical engineering, the article discussed mechanics capability and settlement laws of composite ground with cement mixing pile through the tests in site. The elaborate work involves several aspects as fllows:(1) Base on the project of soft ground improvement in Guangzhou university city, a lot of experiments have been done including displacement observation and loading test. So a mass of first-hand data have been gained.(2) The exponential curves method, hyperbolic curves method, Asaoka's curves method and BP artificial neural network have been used to fit or predict the settlement. Comparing with the result of the prediction and the observational settlement, the precision of four prediction method can been appraised. As far as the precision of fitting result is concerned, the hyperbolic curves method and BP artificial neural network have better fitting effect. However, when BP artificial neural network is used to predict settlement of composite ground with cement mixing pile, the precision of prediction is not good. In conclusion, the hyperbolic curves method is the best compatible for predicting settlement of composite ground with cement mixing pile in this condition. When the exponential curves method, hyperbolic curves method and Asaoka's curves method are used...
