Flowmeter was extensively used in our work and life. With the constant development of the economy, a demand for various technological flowmeter was higher and higher. Because of the rapid development of electronic technology, especially integrated circuit technology, newly intelligent flowmeters were constantly produced. Natural gas, as a kind of high-quality energy and industrial chemicals, was mainly measured by way of volume flow. According to different methods of volume measuring, differencial pressure type flowmeter, volume type flowmeter and swirl type fluid vibration flowmeter were mainly used at present. Vortex precession flowmeter was extensively used ir the measurement of fluids, such as gas, liquid. But it's anti-interference performance was poor, and precision of measurement was weak in practical application. It was necessary to design intelligent vortex precession flowmeter to meet the needs of trade market of natural gas.Based on the investigating and analysing of the application of the current situation and development trend of the flowmeter, an intelligent vortex precession flowmeter was designed in the thesis.The intellectual on-the-spot flowmeter of natural gas consisted of swirl sensor, temperature sensor, pressure sensor, A/D converter, outside expand memory, single chip microcomputer, LCD module , etc. The swirl sensor measured the fluid swirl signal and the single chip microcomputer measured its frequency value; The temperature and pressure sensor gathered on-the-spot temperature and pressure signal, and A/D converter converted analog signals into digital signals to revise the on-the-spot flow of natural gas; Outside expand memory stored flow value so that the users could inquire about the information of the usage. The on-the-spot data of accumulative total flow, instantaneous flow, frequency, temperature, pressure, time and battery electric consumption, etc. were showed through LCD module. This thesis described the realization of hardware and software, interfere sources and anti-interference measures to ensure the reliable running of the system.The experiment proved that this flowmeter system was reasonable in design, it was reliablein work and accurate in measurement, the data show clearly. Furthermore, the anti-interference ability of the system was strong to achieve the anticipated purpose.
